A BONUS SATURDAY POSTING : FATHER SCULPTOR

I raved a fair bit about Father Sculptor last year. They were by far the most exciting new band to come into my vision in all of 2012.

I've been lucky enough to keep in contact with them over the past wee while during which they have been in Wales recording their debut LP as well as playing a number of gigs across the UK, including two in Glasgow, neither of which sadly, I've been unable to get along to.

The EP is called Faith & Violence and is being released on Monday 15 April 2013 on IX Hispana Records and I'm really looking forward to it.

In the meantime, they've added yet another brilliant song over on Soundcloud.  It's called Lowlands.

I make no bones about the fact that Father Sculptor are very happy to wear their 80s indie-pop influences on their sleeves while making fresh-sounding music that should find favour with the young hispters.  There's more than a touch of Moz on the vocals and the tune got me thinking of Talk Talk.

You can also navigate your way through the Soundcloud page and get access to some of the older material recorded in 2012.....none of which will feature on the debut EP. Indeed many of the early songs are already beginning to feature less and less in their live sets as the boys are writing and playing a prodigious amount of new stuff.

This won't be the last time I'll be mentioning Father Sculptor on TVV this year. In the meantime enjoy this:-

These guys are incredible live. They blew Swim Deep away at King Tuts. I'll be following their rise with interest
