So much was expected of the boys at this point in time. Success was still some way off, before which there would be an acrimonious parting of the ways from some of the original members.

Richard Skinner got me into a lot of new stuff. Fantastic and unique as John Peel was , sometimes i think the big shadow he cast meant that the part that RS and Annie Nightingale played in bringing great music to radio is lost
Richard Skinner, Annie Nightingale, Janice Long, and didn't Kid Jensen do an evening show too? And for Londoners Gary Crowley. All these DJs played a part in my musical education, certainly for me more so than Peelie. I know that's possibly not proper blog talk, but it's true.

Skinner's last track on Radio 1 'Here's Where the Story Ends'...class way to bow out. Also vividly remember Sylvian on Kid Jensen's show previewing Brilliant Trees. Straight down to Impulse Records, EK town centre the following day, June 1984. Great post JC.
