I've been away for a while and missed all the stuff over the last week - but what an amazing response - I feel moved to chuck my hat into the ring too
I'd have to select
Chameleons -- Strange Time - the whole album
I love this album! It's awesome! It has something for every mood but works so well as a whole. I had it on a tape for many years and listened over and over and over . . . then finally got round to getting a proper copy of it. If you're feeling angry, go for Swamp Thing. Mad Jack is always a happy singalong. Tears is a wonderful song - and it was written in response to Mark Burgess losing a friend to the big C. The album version was made rocky because they wanted a single on the album but the version on 'This never ending now' is - well, go and check it out. A whole album of The Chameleons doing acoustic versions of their past glories - not to be missed
I said he couldn't have a whole album, only one track, so...
here we go - this is the version from This Never Ending Now, not the original - listening to them again this is the winner . . .

I'd forgotten how good this is. The band would be a very good choice for '5 best album tracks', methinks.
Glad you're back.
Adrian.
Chameleons were a great band, and one of my favourites. Some great angst combined with moments of beauty (In Shreds is my personal fave).

PS Love the blog btw - came to it via a search for Win's "You Got the Power", which seems to be one of the few tracks hard to find in this digital age...
Hi John
You still searching for that track by Win??
If so, drop a line to....

Hi Mr Villan
I got Strange Times in 1986 stuck in Aberdeen and it is evocative but not as good as a piece of work all these years later as 'What does anything mean basically?'
