EVERY DAY WHEN I WAKE UP, I THANK THE LORD THAT I'M WELSH

It is St David's Day today. Its every bit as impotant to the Welsh as St Paddy's Day is to their Celtic cousins just over the sea.

My sister-in-law Adele is Welsh. Like my brother, she also has American citizenship having lived in Florida for something like 20 years now. But she's never forgotten her roots. Her licence plate reads WALES 1. These are for her and everyone else who woke up tofay, just as they do every other day, and thank their lord, whoever he or she may be, for being part Welsh:-

Well I'm Welsh, and to be honest, St Dai means nothing to me - we don't even get a day off work!

Mr Urdd on the other hand, now he's a true Welsh hero

I can, more or less, throw stones at Wales from where I live.

Thanks for the mention! Love being Welsh and probably the longer you are away the more patriotic you become.

Dydd Dewi Sant Hapus! I'm English but have lived in Wales for 10 years. I feel more Welsh than English as the Welsh are honest, decent, hardworking people who don't have an unwarranted sense of superiority like the English.

I have a St David's Day celebration over at my site - two podcasts featuring nowt but Welsh bands. Pop by and download 'em.

Oh Robster, you insignificant little wretch.

When England win the next World Cup and regain the Empire, don't come yomping over Offa's Dyke to me with yer leek-waving sheep-bothering nonsense.

Lots o love, from the most superior dishonest indecent workshy fop in England.

As an American mongrel I have decided in the last few years to claim my Welshness (my grandmother)- so I'm 1/4. Of course we have no culture here in the U.S. so I'm holding on to whatever I can.
