I'm hoping most of you know this already having signed up to this place for regular updates. But today is the long-awaited release date for a new Paul Haig single.
Yup, the Impotent Fury Remix of Trip Out The Rider can be purchased from plenty of places across this interwebby thing. There's Amazon for starters, but it is also out there in i-tunes, play.com and more.
As I was able to exclusively reveal on Paul Haig Day II on 6th April 2010, the remix is by Fred Deakin of Lemon Jelly.
I hope you'll all spend a few of your hard earned pennies, cents or zlotys and support someone who has not only been one of the best and most influential musicians to come out of Scotland in the last 30 years, but is a genuine friend of bloggers the world over and fully acknowledges that as music fans all we are not crooks or pirates.
Its also worth remembering that for Paul Haig Day II, we were all able to get a free download of Paul's own remix of the song, which was originally released on the excellent LP Relive at the end of 2009.
mp3 : Paul Haig - Trip Out The Rider (remix)
I must have loaned my copy of Relive to someone as I cant find it, so I've just gone online and re-ordered it. But I couldn't resist also ordering two more copies so that I can mark today with a wee competition.
All you have to do to have the chance to win one of the two copies of Relive is send me an email to thevinylvillain@hotmail.co.uk telling me the name of Paul's former band that was on Postcard Records.....
Closing date is Monday 8th November after which Mrs V will draw the names out of the hat.
Happy Listening. And Good Luck......
