IT'S FRIDAY I'M IN LOVE....WITH GREAT SCOTTISH SINGLES (19)

Quick recap on all the singles that have been featured so far:-

Orange Juice - L.O.V.E, Love
Friends Again - The Friends Again EP
Belle & Sebastian - Legal Man
Close Lobsters - What Is There To Smile About?
One Dove - White Love
Simple Minds - Love Song
The Valves - It Don't Mean Nothing At All
Associates - 18 Carat Love Affair
Edwyn Collins - A Girl Like You
The Delgados - No Danger
Captain America - Flame On
Ballboy - All The Records On The Radio Are Shite
Hey! Elastica - Eat Your Heart Out
The Trash Can Sinatras - Hayfever
Sons & Daughters - Taste The Last Girl
Primal Scream - Star
Altered Images - A Day's Wait
Big Country - Harvest Home

Foil - Reviver Gene

Every one of the above I have in the collection, either on vinyl in 7" and/or 12" form or else as a CD single.

But sadly, not today's. Which is why I can only bring you the actual single as lifted from the accompanying LP and not any of the other songs which made up the EP on its initial release.

mp3 : Saint Jude's Infirmary - The Church Of John Coltrane

Again, it was my dear friend Jacques the Kipper who brought this lot to my attention. He has the good fortune to work in an office where there's a few younger folk with their fingers on various musical pulses, while I while my time away with folk who think my taste is one that attracts the term 'acquired'.

Prior to reading blogs and browsing the internet, JtK was my #1 source for great new things. So he's to thank/blame for much of what appears here depending on your own particular tastes.

Happy Listening

I do have the ep, the other tracks are okay but not as good as the main one.

I love their first album. Saw them a couple of times, once at the Wah Wah Hut and once in Edinburgh, wonderful noise they made, mad as a sack full of ferrets mind you.

great band, both live and on record...were rumours that they were about to call it a day, which I hope is not true!

Definitely my favourite track by them
