Just under two weeks ago, I featured the work of Care and made reference to the fact that guitarist Ian Broudie would later go on to find fame and fortune with The Lightning Seeds.As ever, it was great to get positive feedback via the comments section, and one contributor Daniel reminded us that Broudie had in fact covered one of the Care singles as a b-side a few years later.
It can be found on the flip side of the 12" single of Sense, a #31 hit back in 1992, and a song written in collaboration with Terry Hall.

Two years later, Terry Hall released his own version of the song and it reached #54 in the UK charts

Completely forgot about Hall's version. But perversely enough I do remember actually watching this performance on Ray Cokes.
I prefer Broudie's original though.
for me the Lightning Seeds really benefitted from the writing partnership of Hall and Broudie.
