I WON'T SAY NO, HOW COULD I ? (Part 4)

Just the other day, I was actually thinking of re-posting one of the b-sides to a 1997 single by Glasgow's very own The Supernaturals (as previously featured here), specifically for the fine folk over the always entertaining Football and Music.

But the clincher came the other day when someone, and a first time commenter to boot, asked for it.

mp3 : The Supernaturals - Prepare To Land (single version)
mp3 : The Supernaturals - High Tension At Boghead
mp3 : The Supernaturals - Take Some Time Out

The single reached #48 in the charts, and while its a pleasant enough ditty, the reason I love this CD is the inclusion of a great tale of a day out watching Dumbarton FC when they played at the aptly named Boghead Park - one of the legendary grounds of Scottish football.

As I mentioned before, Dumbarton FC are one of Scotland's oldest clubs, located some 15 miles west of Glasgow on the banks of the River Clyde, but they have long struggled in the lower divisions. Boghead Park, I'm sad to say, is no more as the club sold the site for housing and moved to a new location about a mile or so away, but still in the town of Dumbarton.

The next edition of this wee series will be in response to a request from DC aka Drunk Country who was looking for something from the rare James LP, One Man Clapping. I'm not sure which particular song DC was looking for.....so if he's reading this and he'd care to let me know his preference, I'll see what I can do. Oh and the rest of you are also free to make your own suggestions...

I met the Supernaturals once when a friend of mine was interviewing them. Good bunch of lads. They deserved greater success.
