NEW POP: ZOOS OF BERLIN
Instead of looking backwards, something that looks forwards. Some new pop from Zoos of Berlin.
Zoos of Berlin say they are from Detroit. Although Detroit is home of Motown and techno, you wouldn't know it. They make pop with an arched eyebrow - sort of how I imagine FiL would sound if set to music. Or perhaps a bit Divine Comedy or even The Stars of Heaven (for those whose memories stretch back that far). Quite this-side-of-the-Atlantic classic 80s/90s pop.
Band members are Daniel Clark, Collin Dupuis, William Yates, Trevor Naud and Kevin Bayson. They have a 3-track out now which can be ordered from their MySpace. They said "Our drummer, Collin Dupuis, is Carl Craig's full-time recording engineer, and we recorded our debut EP in Carl's personal studio." Would have been better for me if they'd have nicked a CC off-cut. But since they didn't, the lead track off the EP:
Zoos of Berlin - Below The Old House
