MY HEY HEY HEY
I know that this blog is all about "The Sound of Young Scotland" past and present. But for once I wanted to draw TVVs gentle readers' attention to the activities of some young colonials - Flagrant Fowl.
Pocketknife and Cousin Cole - for it is they who form the aforesaid group - are two residents of New York City who do most pleasing remixes. These are not the usual "bangers" that get the young people "totally psyched", as I believe the more inarticulate denizens of that country are liable to say. Rather they are sympathetic remixes of a more diverse range of people than is usual - Joanna Newsom, John Lennon, Nick Drake and Bruce Springsteen. And the Neil Young remix is a particular triumph turning a grumpy old gentleman into a empathetic troubador.

Their album can be ordered via myspace (links below). I can recommend it as a worthwhile investment, even if the outflow of funds to the colonies will do nothing for the UK's balance of payments.
