SSSHHH.....

I was wanting to put an appropriate tune for quiet reflective Sundays, and thought a little Tindersticks would fit the bill.

For many, its the singing of Stuart Staples that makes the band. But while I do adore his voice, I think you have to look beyond that and acknowledge the fantastic contributions the whole of the band make.

Indeed, some very good Tindersticks songs have been released without any vocals from Stuart - and not just instrumentals.

Here's a very fine example:-

mp3 : Tindersticks - Until The Morning Comes

It's the opening track from the band's most recent LP, Waiting For The Moon, that came out back in 2003. The vocal duties are handled by violinist Dickon Hinchcliffe and there's no doubt he is, in his own right, a fine singer, albeit with a completely different style from Stuart. And as I say, perfect for Sunday mornings.

Last night's escapades have thrown my body clock into complete disarray, and I've no idea when I'm eventually going to fall asleep. But I promise there will never again be a 5am posting or drunken incoherent comments posted on other blogs.

PS : The photo was pinched from one posted up at flickr. It was taken in Glasgow at 8am a couple of days ago.....we've been getting some incredibly clear weather this past week or so, and Sunday's sunrise should be something similar. I'm going to try and get up early and look for myself.

Nighty-night.
